First Light Farm is changing...adapting to how our world is changing. We're rethinking our educational programming to extend more support to people who not only want to learn to grown their own food, but also want programming focusing on nature and how we can learn from the natural world how to be fully in our world with others. We know that nature heals us, provides us with a model for community, and connects us with a larger sense of ourselves as part of the natural world.
Besides expanding our educational programming, we're also focusing on the critical issue of food insecurity as we know that the number of individuals and families who don't have access to healthy foods is growing. These are not unknown strangers, but our neighbors and friends. Food insecurity is going deeper into all communities as prices for food and housing continue to rise. We want to help by providing different ways people can access healthy foods.
Here's how you can help: support our educational programming envisioning work that we're doing this season through a one-time or ongoing donations (your donation will support the salaries of staff who are doing this envisioning work) and/or by underwriting a weekly or bi-weekly CSA so that we can continue to provide food for those people who most need it. (Information on the cost of a weekly CSA can be found on our online store button.)
We each can do something. But we can be better together as we continue the work of building strong, resilient communities. We hope you will join with us in this work. Your gifts are greatly appreciated.
All gifts are tax deductible.
